Welcome to the West Buckland School Website. I hope it gives you an insight into this unique school. Since 1858 we have created opportunities for boys and girls to fulfil their academic potential, and to develop as confident young adults through the challenges and enjoyment of sport, music, drama, adventurous activities and many other extra curricular activities. Our children flourish on this beautiful campus. It is a wonderful place in which to learn and to grow up.

This website has separate sections for the Nursery & Preparatory School whose children are aged 3-11 years, and for the Senior School for students up to age 18. However, whether you are primarily interested in how we make provision for younger children or for older students who will soon be contemplating life at university and the world of work, I hope you will find something of interest in all sections of the site.
This is a vibrant school with a strong, supportive community life for children of all ages. Having celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2008, we are in the middle of a remarkable period of development which will give our young people facilities which are second to none in the South West.
So strong are the feelings of our students and their families that they form life long connections with us through the Old West Buckland Association and the West Buckland School Foundation. You can find out more about these organisations as well as our Parents' Association on this site.
I hope that what you see will encourage you to visit the school for yourself. That is the best way to experience the special qualities of West Buckland School and the people who live and work here, whether as day pupils or as boarders.
I look forward to meeting you.
