West Buckland is one of the leading independent co-educational schools in the West Country. Taking children from the ages of three to eighteen years, it has played an important role in the life of the people of North Devon and beyond for almost 150 years. During this time the School has built up a strong tradition and a reputation for academic excellence.
Enjoying a 98-acre campus on the edge of Exmoor, the School is conveniently located half way between Barnstaple and South Molton. The Nursery is part of the Preparatory School for West Buckland.
Children entering the Nursery are in a safe, secure and homely atmosphere. Not only a classroom, it has a book corner, a music corner, a home corner and an area set aside for sand, water and painting. There is access to a large garden with a play house, sandpit and outdoor play equipment. Also, the Nursery utilises its unique location by using the Preparatory School library, music room and Senior School swimming pool.
The Head of the Early Years in the Prep School, Miss Mary Dendle, works closely with the Nursery Manageress, Mrs Dawn Verney. Dawn has now been joined by Mrs Emma Spear. Together they ensure that high quality play experiences make your child’s first steps outside the home environment an exciting and memorable adventure.
